Siko GmbH at Agritechnica 2023
Mr. Roth, head of the mobile automation business unit at Siko, defines mobile automation as the ability of mobile devices, vehicles and robots to perform tasks and actions automatically, autonomously or semi-autonomously. This is achieved through the integration of technologies such as sensors, software and control systems that enable these mobile machines to record their environment, process information and make independent decisions. The advantages lie in increased efficiency, optimized safety and precision.
The focus here is on specially developed position sensors for agricultural machinery and the associated services. Siko provides a wide range of sensors, including rotary encoders, position sensors for hydraulic cylinders, inclination sensors and bearingless rotary encoders. These sensors enable precise detection of positions, inclinations, speeds and movements, which are of central importance in agricultural technology.
The areas of application are diverse: for example, Siko's bearingless encoders ensure reliable speed and direction detection in agricultural machinery transmissions. Siko encoders control agricultural implements such as plows, harrows and sprayers to precisely monitor the angle and alignment. Tilt sensors and IMUs are used to monitor the tilt of agricultural machinery such as combine harvesters and tractors to ensure an optimal working position. Position sensors for hydraulic cylinders monitor the position and speed of the piston in real time, ensuring safety and efficiency in dynamic situations.
Particularly noteworthy is Siko's focus on functional safety and compliance. The products comply with international standards and norms, including UN ECE R10 (E1), EMC standards for construction, agricultural and forestry machinery as well as functional safety standards such as DIN EN ISO 13849-1 and DIN EN 61508 up to performance levels PLd and SIL2. In addition, specific versions of the sensors are developed for special environmental conditions, such as in environments with a high ammonia content.
Mr. Roth emphasized the necessity of Siko's products for agricultural machinery manufacturers: "Our sensors provide precise measurement and control, which are essential for the efficient and safe operation of agricultural machinery. Thanks to our many years of experience in the field of mobile automation, we understand the needs of the industry and provide customized solutions for tilt control, positioning, drive monitoring and much more."
Visitors to Agritechnica can experience the latest innovations at Siko's booth, including the world's smallest safe multi-turn encoders WV3600MR and WH3600MR for mobile machinery, which are perfect for use in confined spaces. The highly integrated bearingless encoder SIKO flexCoder MSAC200, which enables position and speed detection in electric drives and power gearboxes, will also be presented.
Siko's exhibit at Agritechnica 2023 illustrates the company's commitment to innovation, functionality and safety in agricultural machinery technology. Siko's new sensor technologies help to increase efficiency, boost productivity and shape the agriculture of the future.
